Ayushmann Khurrana's Article 15 Director Anubhav Sinha Receiving Threat Mails And Calls?
Ayushmann Khurrana is gearing up for the release of his next Article 15, which is being directed by Anubhav Sinha. Ever since the trailer of the film was dropped online the film has been making headlines for different reasons. Now, before its release, Article 15 been embroiled in a controversy because as multiplex chain has received letters saying that Brahmin groups and Karni Sena will oppose the screening of the film. And what’s more is that the director of film Anubhav Sinha has also been receiving threat mails and calls from different stratas of the society.

A source close to the film told Times Of India, “Anubhav has been addressing sensitive subjects in the society through his movies — be it Mulk and the upcoming film. As it nears its date with cinemas, he has been getting threat mails and calls from different stratas of the society, particularly the upper bracket of the age-old social structure.”

A report in DNA suggests, “Given that the trailer shows Ayushmann’s police officer entangled in the caste system while investigating the killing of two girls, the makers have been accused of portraying Brahmins in a negative light. It is being said that the story is inspired by the 2014 Badaun (Uttar Pradesh) rape case — in which two teenage girls were found hanging from a tree — that made national headlines. While Parshuram Sena, a Brahmin outfit has reportedly voiced its displeasure and alleged that the film defames the community, Anubhav is said to have been getting threats on social media. Moreover, we also have images of letters received by a multiplex chain saying that Brahmin groups and Karni Sena will assemble outside their properties to protest against the screening of Article 15. Apparently, cinema owners are reaching out to the local police stations for help with additional security in wake of these threats.”
